Piloting alternative ways of delivering CISV’s mission

The global COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on people’s ability to move around the world. We were founded on the idea of bringing children from different cultures together to learn about each other and make friends. All with one aim: that they would grow up to become ambassadors for a more just and peaceful world.

When our first Village took place in June 1951, the world’s computer and technology journey was in it’s infancy and the digital world we now live in was the dream of science fiction writers! Today, meeting and learning from people of different backgrounds and cultures to you can be done from the comfort of your own home (even if nothing quite beats that in-person camp experience – merch swap anyone?).

This year we have a number of teams of volunteers working on alternative, digitally based programmes to deliver CISV’s mission. We hope you’ll take part in these pilots and that they’ll give you a taste for participating in an in-person programme either locally, nationally or internationally (as travel restrictions allow). Welcome to the CISV family!
